Being around; kids

Since coming here to USA, I had the chance to experience many things, which gives me the opportunity to think how fortunate I am to be here and to be grateful of what I had achieved up-to-date.

For the last 2 weekends, I was surrounded by kids and their family.  Being a bachelorette, I had never been surrounded by kids.  Even back home, my close friends are still not married yet, so all of us hang out pretty often, and the topic was mostly about our career, traveling, etc...definitely no kid talk at all :)  but since coming here, I realized that kids are the jewel of their parents. Whenever you see parents talking about their kids, their eyes just glow and there is happiness locked on their faces.  I had been observing all these parents' expression and this is definitely true!  It seems all the trouble fade away when they talk about their kids..it is a stress free medicine.

I attended two birthday parties over the past week and they were actually kids' party.  As usual, most attendees were parents and their kids.  Since I was there, most of the time I became an observer; observing how kids act differently and who their good friends were.  The 1st birthday party consisted of kids from various ages, ranging from a few months' old to 4 years old. I could see that they are more easily satisfied playing with the toys instead of running around.  On the other hand, the 2nd party really made my head spinned round and round :-)  Those were 5 yr old kids who already learnt how to talk and speak their mind.  I can see a huge difference between the 2 crowds even though the age differences was so small.  I think nowadays once the kids start learning they grew up very fast, too fast that I can imagine.  Their mind is like lightning and they could voice out their opinion just like an adult.  Very impressive I should say but on the other hand I wished they would grow a little slower...caused I think kids should enjoy life as kids, not as young adults...

Being around kids make me wonder if modern parents are spending enough quality time with them.  I can see that most kids want all the attention they can get, that's why they do things just to get their parents' attention.  It is hard for all of us in this modern society to balance between career and family but we try our best caused no matter what, the unconditional love between parents and kids are priceless......
