San Clemente, CA

Overlooking San Clemente Beach

Beautiful sunset in the horizon

The huge mud-pie (the fork as a scale)
The pier

After the trip to Death Valley National Park, Bridget and I headed on to her grandparents' beach condo down at San Clemente, CA.  It was definitely a treat after the camping trip in the dry desert, and I was really looking forward for a shower :-).  This was my 2nd time not able to take shower for 2.5 days...When we reached San Clemente, the 1st thing I did was take a swim in the pool while waiting for her grandparents to arrive.  After that, I took a real shower and felt so refreshed :-)

Later on we headed to San Clemente beach. And very nearby was the pier...amazing beaches around...On 1 side of the beach was for the surfers whereas on another side of the pier was for swimmers, therefore the jetty worked as a border between these two sides.  We were starving by then, and decided to eat at the restaurant on the pier, while watching for the sunset.  We had a good meal, and for dessert we had a huge mudpie, which surprisingly we managed to finish 3/4 of it in the cold air!!! :-)...Definitely an appetite after the camping food over the past few days.  The sunset was magnificent as usual and Bridget observed that there was a green horizon the moment the sun disappeared from the horizon...I didn't manage to see that, maybe I was just enticed by the beauty of the colourful skies...

San Clemente trip was definitely a relaxing one, where I managed to get rest and slept late than my usual time, and another interesting experience was attending mass with Bridget's family in a Catholic church.  Her grandma was surprised I wasn't a Catholic caused I seemed experienced with the whole mass ceremony thingy...I think in every religious place we go, as long as we show respect, nothing can go wrong...After the mass, I asked several things about some ritual they performed and understood better now about Christianity.

I would like to thank Bridget for planning this wonderful trip and it has been a great experience for me.  She had been a great hostsister and has a very warm heart.  I am blessed to have known her in this big foreign land where 1.5 yrs ago, I was so lost.......
