Weekends filled with chatting over messenger

Last weekend, I was very fortunate to have some of my friends who were online to chat with me, and the best part was it came continuously, so in fact, time passes so fast that before I realized it was my dinner time...well..the 1st person that chatted with me was a friend I knew since my undergraduate days, means nearly 11yrs ago!  Wow...more than a decade had passed since my 1st university degree!  We chatted for nearly 2 hours over yahoo messenger, updating each other about what's happening with our not-so-exciting life and about the days during our undergraduate years...if there is one thing that I would change back then, I would say that I should have taken the opportunity to get to know more people and involved in more social activites, and not just studying...back then, we were finishing an original 4-yr course into a 3-yr program...so no wonder all of us were stuck with exams n exams n exams...but I guessed all my coursemates ended up successful in their own career and life :-)

The next person that came online was a friend I knew back in Japan when I was doing my Ph.D program.  I always call him MIA (missing in action) caused even though we were studying in the same university, we just didn't find the chance to meet up with each other...sometimes we would bumped into each other coincidently or when we were cycling but never really sat down and talk but somehow I knew that one day we will have the chance to get to know each other all over again...and it is never too late to know the person, no matter where they are..caused I believe that if we are fated to be friends, nothing can stop that from happening and it has gotten easier with the online technology :)

Well friendship is something very special, and unique.  No matter where you are, you will find friends that are able to share your thoughts and feelings with...most important is that they will give you support especially when you are so far away from your family.  This I had learnt over the years I was away from home....we really need true friends and once you find them, cherished them forever cause these chances are hard to come by....
