Happy Mooncake Festival

Today is the mid-autumn festival or known as the 'Mooncake Festival' where people will buy mooncake and eat while spending time with close family and friends. This is my 4th year staying outside of Malaysia and not celebrating this festival. I missed those old days where we used to hang lanterns around the fences of our house and replaced those candles which were burnt out! When we were kids, I remembered that we used to buy lanterns which had figurines like dog, fish, bear, etc...where we will walk with our own lantern around the neighbourhood...more often, due to the walking, sometimes the lantern would get partially burnt because of the instability of the candle position in the lantern. If the lantern got burnt, we will have another one to walk around with! My parents always had ample stock of lanterns:). But most important thing was we had managed to spend quality time with family and friends, getting together, making the neighbourhood more 'light' than the usual street lights! I wonder when I will ever have this chance to celebrate this special occasion again and I am looking forward to this day again! HAPPY MOONCAKE FESTIVAL, EVERYONE BACK HOME!!!
