Santa Cruz Boardwalk Beach

Part of the funfair park, Santa Cruz Boardwalk Beach

Last Sat, Ritu's family and I went to Santa Cruz Boardwalk Beach, about 1.5hrs drive from Berkeley. This is the first beach I visited since I came here. And this is the nearest famous beach here located near Berkeley. We departed around 11.40am and reached there at about 1.30pm..the trip took longer than expected because of the tremendous heavy traffic going towards the beach area. This beach is a very commercialized beach cause it has funfair and also shops along the beach where u can buy food, souvenirs, an etc....

The beach was really an eye opener for me. You can see people wearing so little clothes...well...what do I mean...ladies in bikinis sunbathing, and beach hunks showing off their well-toned muscular bodies. On the other hand, there are group of families with their kids swimming, building sandcastle or just strolling along the beachline. I had a great time just observing the people around. People watching is fun here. This is such a liberal country, and the best part is nobody seems to care what you are doing!

After spending nearly 4 hrs there, we headed home. Reached home about 8.45pm. Tired but enjoyable...had to sleep early cause the next day, I have a marathon to run! Will blog it in the next posting!
