Driving license in California

Today, went to Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) at Oakland-Claremount branch to apply for Driver's License...but 1st of all I have to sit for the written test (like our Undang test back in Malaysia)..well..reached there at 2.15pm, queue in line to get a form for application, waited for my turn to apply for a new driver's license application, waited for the whole process, queue to take the written test which requires thumbprint and pictures taken...stand up in a small booth to answer 36 questions manually, took it to the examiner, scored 32/36 (passing mark 30/36), took a temporary driving permit to practice driving on road and back to lab by 4.30pm...not that bad...for the time frame...since Malaysians have been so used of waiting....this is no big deal!....so next task...learning to drive the opposite side from Malaysia...need to get the brain working on the other side now...wonder if i can pass the 1st time.....wish me luck!
