The famous 4th street
Sunset overlooking University of California, BerkeleyI am now sitting in my room resting and pondering what is my next task. Just went out to 4th Street, about 20mins walk from the place I live. It is supposed to be one of the 11th best streets in the West Coast. It is a very nice walk, sunny day, and you can see people walking their dogs, people enjoying the sun while sipping the coffee....I am yet to try the ever famous Peet's coffee & tea.
I had arrived Berkeley, CA 3 weeks ago. A totally different place from where I studied and grew up. The road here is so spacious! I have to walk so much!....not complaining...treating it as a form of exercise. It was raining frequently few weeks' ago but now the weather is changing...blue skies and beautiful sunset! This is what people call California weather! I am yet to explore this huge city of Berkeley and its vicinity...so convenient if I can afford a car...maybe if I can save enough money, then I will consider getting one:) Life is very different...another phase of life, no more students adventure, more serious stuffs of discussion now...
Hmm..let's talk about my labmates...i have this German labmates who loves music!...Just ask him anything about classical stuff and he will tell u the whole history! and of course there are 3 japanese labmates who are kinda quiet but helpful when u ask them...and then there are 2 from India who are very helpful and caring as well...let's see...then there is an American, who I seldom speaks too...dunno y...n of course my own boss, who is very caring and patient with all of us...need to say more, I am kinda comfortable in this lab...however it will take more time to understand each of them better....the best thing about this postdoctoral position is I have 4 weeks' break for vacation!...wonder where I will go during my break....hehehe
