Vineyard at Sonoma Valley

More vineyard, Sonoma Valley

Hamburger during the BBQ Party

UCB Postdoc BBQ Party
My labmates and I decided to join a BBQ event organized by the Postdoc Assoc here in UCB. It was held at Live Oak Park, North Berkeley. We had really good hamburgers and hotdogs. The turkey burger I had was so filling, and one is enough to last me until dinner. After that, Fasahath decided to take a drive up to Sonoma Valley, a place known for its famous vineyard, after Napa Valley. It was really a scenic drive along the way, with huge vineyard covering the horizon of the Sonoma city. However, we didn't manage to do wine tasting because most of the shop closes between 4 and 5 pm. The drive there took nearly 1.5hrs, not as near as I would have expected but being in USA, travelling from one city to another is FAR!!! Sometimes it seems so unreachable! After that, we went back to Berkeley, reached here about 8pm, had dinner at Kirin, a northern chinese restaurant at Solano Ave. The environment of this restaurant was really good, quiet, unlike the typical chinese restaurant where usually you will hear people talking loudly! You can see lotsa Americans dine in this restaurant...and surprisingly the food was good:) After dinner we went to watch The Forbidden Kingdom, starring Jackie Chan and Jet Li. Its been awhile since I had watched some Kung Fu movie...The verdict of this movie...well a very typical Hong Kong Kung Fu movie which of course the storyline may be too absurd...action was good...but at times may seem too draggy and of course very 'fairytale'. Nevertheless, I can say this is a pretty famous movie, cause the movie theatre was nearly full-house. Reached home at 1am, slept until 11am the next day! :) A good productive weekend for me:)
