Behind the redwood trees in Yosemite National Park

Yosemite Falls

Windmill along the way back to Berkeley
It was really a great camping trip over the weekend even though all three of us, Fasahath, Ayeesha and me were dead tired by the time we reached home on Sunday night. But the experiences and the company that was with me was worth a million...or maybe it is unmeasurable:) Good memories will stay forever in our heart!
On Fri, we took off at about 3.30pm, and reached the Merced campsite at 7.30pm. We set the tents up and started a campfire and heat up our dinner...it was nearly 10pm when everything was settled....then we took an early rest, which was nearly midnite. I couldn't sleep the 1st nite, cause one of the campers told us there were rattle snakes around the area...so I freaked out!....damn...however the 2nd nite was much better, was able to sleep more...maybe the body had been too tired:)
On the 2nd day, we went to the 3rd campground there and made a walk to a natural swimming pool discovered by Fasahath when he was doing his 2 hrs jogged on that morning while we ladies were sleeping soundly in our tent. After reaching the swimming pool, we took a dip there...the water was freezing cold, I think about 15 degrees celcius! And the ray from the sun was so bright and hot...so you get two extreme weather at the same spot...After a short swim, we went back to our campsite and ate our lunch, grilled food!...very delicious indeed and hungry of course after the long walk n the short swim...It was nearly 5pm after the lunch and we decided to visit the nearby town, called Mariposa...to me it seems like a cowboy town, just a short street of shops...that's all!...
At night, we lay a mat on the small beach beside the river where we were camping and gazed at the stars above our head overlooking the horizons of the skies! It was so beautiful and relaxing!!! The more you stare the more stars you can see covering the skies...it was cloudless on that night except for the smoke coming from the campfire...other than that..everything seems perfect...except for a barking dog and a bunch of youngsters drinking and partying beside us...but this didn't destroy our concentration towards the bright stars shinning above us....
The next day, we made a drive to Yosemite National Park, about 1.5hrs from Merced...and while I was driving....i saw a field mice appearing in front of the car bonnet!....I was pretty shock...We stopped at the roadside, and Fasahath was trying to 'shoo' the mice away..but in it went into the car body....all of us thought...it will be burnt by the heat....there was nothing we can do about it...so i continue driving...and suddenly when we reach Yosemite, the mice reappear itself..this time it did some acrobat...hehehe...it ran along the trim of the bonnet, near the wiper, then to the driver window, passenger window, and back to the driver rear mirror..it was hanging on to its life at that moment...u can actually see fear in its eyes!!!...My heart melted at that time....praying hard that it will survive....Then, Fasahath decided to safe the pity mice...I rolled down my driver window and he took the mice by its tail inside the car safely!...Finally I managed to pull over and he released the mice into the wilderness again!!! Thank god it survive..so MICE...wherever you are...YOU ARE A SURVIVOR!:)
After visiting the waterfalls in Yosemite. we headed back home......tired.....but very satisfied...
